Where the estate begins

Not a rebuild. A rebirth.

Magnolia House is the building the estate is known by, and it is the first thing every guest sees — a hundred and seventy-five feet from the gate, at the top of the drive, white columns against the ridge. It was raised in the 1890s. In May 2025 a fire took the interior, and the family chose to bring it back rather than replace it.

The front is restored to its history as closely as the record allows. The columns you marry in front of are the original columns, saved from the fire and standing again. Window frames and a wooden mantle from the old house are back in the new one. And behind the house, where there was nothing before, there is a conservatory — glass on three sides, Lookout Mountain on the fourth, light all day — which is also the answer to what happens if it rains: nothing is tented, nothing is struck, and nothing costs extra.

Everything else on the property is arranged around it. You arrive here. You marry in the meadow below it. You come back to it for dinner under glass, and you walk up to the cottages from its door.

Working note. The live site still carries the rebuild page — “Coming 2026”, pre-opening FAQs, reduced rates during construction. None of it was carried over. The renderings are gone: every photograph on this page is now the finished building, lifted from the 4K footage of the opening. A proper stills shoot would still be better than frames from a film.

The opening

The day the doors opened.

Read about the day.

Seen

Magnolia House, as it is.

After dark

See it lit.

The conservatory at night is the reason the house was rebuilt with glass. Come and stand in it when it suits you, or start with a conversation.
